Much like Mother’s Day, we’re facing a unique Father’s Day in June 2020. Traditional Father’s Day outings like a day on the golf course, taking in a ballgame, or gathering as a family for a large barbeque may not be possible in some areas.
So, what can you do to show your appreciation to Dad? Here are five quarantine-friendly Father’s Day gift ideas.
- Deliver a Meal
If food is the best way to your dad’s heart, consider having a meal delivered or, if you live close by, make some of his favorites and hand-deliver a meal he’ll remember.
- Virtual Game Night
Take advantage of meeting apps like Zoom to get the family together for a virtual game night. Some of the rules may have to be modified, and if you need some ideas, apps like Houseparty host games that up to nine people can participate in on their devices.
- Host an Outdoor Movie Night
This time of quarantine and social distancing has led to a renaissance for the drive-in movie theater (including the Silver Moon in Lakeland). If your area doesn’t have one, however, bring the theater to Dad. Get a projector and shine it on the garage door or an outdoor wall, and don’t forget the popcorn!
- Take a Virtual Trip
While most tourist attractions are still closed, that doesn’t stop you from taking a virtual trip! Head to The Louvre in Paris, the Sistine Chapel, or even enjoy a few rides and a fireworks show at Walt Disney World.
- Sports Replays
Many pro sports subscription services are free during the pandemic, so treat dad by finding one of his favorite games – perhaps when his team won the Super Bowl or World Series – and cue it up for him to enjoy on his lounge chair.
