GOAL: The goal is to identify the issues that are important to City residents, neighborhoods, businesses, and organizations to determine how the growth plan should be modified and how City finances and resources should be redirected to address key issues.
PUBLIC MEETINGS:
The Community & Economic Development Department of the City of Lakeland is facilitating 8 public meetings throughout the City to engage citizens on the importance of our Comprehensive Plan and how it relates to Lakeland’s quality of life. These public meetings are open to anyone who lives, works, shops, or attends school in Lakeland! Attendees will be able to take the interactive survey at the meeting with staff present to answer any questions.

-The City is currently in the process of evaluating its Comprehensive Plan to look forward and develop a strategy for growth over the next 10 years (2020-2030).
-The purpose of the Lakeland Comprehensive Plan is to establish City goals, objectives and policies that will be effective at managing growth and development.
-One of the key aspects of this planning effort is to identify and understand the priorities and concerns of Lakeland residents and City leaders in order to develop a vision for the future of the community.
